"Wisconsin has the highest "black incarceration rate" 4, 058 per 100.000 of total population. .With the passage of the 13th amendment and the reconstruction period certain segments of population were targeted for repression, isolation and incarceration - to be criminalized, stigmatized, and ostracized. Oust/outcast from mainstream society. All under da color of law. A government secret program. To effectively end crime we would have to deal with the cause to find a solution, end poverty, lack of equal opportunity and education, stop the segregation and isolation of different segments in our society. This would be a good start. Cuz we would have ended discrimination which crushes dreams and self esteem. A key to happiness and success is said to be something to love, something to do, something to hope for:. Believing and feeling we are part of something. Marcel proust: "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes. "
It is said, "that one should stand in his/her own truth and fight in ones own armor, regardless of conditions and demonstrate the power to transform our own consciousness". That's where we are at today, finding a common ground with those on the opposite end of the spectrum in life, as well as with life. You've been the bridge for many whose lives you touch in hope, faith, and love. That human touch in an inhumane environment, and we are hopeful and thankful for those of you who go the extra mile for those who have been written off, and sometimes robbed of liberty, justice, and opportunities to be part and/or partial to our community, the human family. You've shown good will and gained the trust and respect of those who are sometimes forgotten, even lost. A Chinese proverb goes: "If you are planning for a year, sow rice, if you are planning for a decade, plant trees, if you are planning for a life time, educate people"...
